Scope of Application

The EU's unified fire performance classification standard for building products and components, used to evaluate the performance of materials in fires (combustibility, smoke, toxicity, etc.).

Applicable objects: Building materials (such as walls, floors, cables, pipes, thermal insulation materials) and systems (such as ventilation ducts, fire doors)

Core Technical Requirements

Class

definition

Example materials

A1

Completely non-flammable, smokeless and heat-free.

Stone, concrete, glass

A2

It is extremely difficult to burn, and releases very little smoke and heat when burning.

Stone slabs, partially fire-resistant steel

Remarks

‌Fire smoke exhaust ducts shall comply with the fire resistance class (EN 13501-1-A1/A2 standard) to ensure that strength and fire performance meet the standards simultaneously at high temperatures
